Grace Happens

(a little late this week!)

wow - Grace - something you don't think about unless forced to directed to.

And these posts linked up at Suscipio are forcing me directing me to see things and appreciate things a little more than I have ever done.

And despite, or maybe in spite of, the messy rooms, and undone laundry, unfinished papers there has been quite a bit of grace for me lately.....

I have been blessed with some fantastic friends.

You know: the friends who will tell you what you need to hear, and not just what you want to hear.

The friends who will tell you to stop acting like a baby and put your big-girl panties on and start acting like a big girl: no whining!

The friends who will tell you to stop being so selfish and start thinking about other people instead of just yourself.

The friends who will hug you and love you and still make you stop and rethink what you thought was ok to think.

And God has so blessed me with some great times of difficulty in which my fantastic friends can work their verbal encouragement with me.

And that special moment when your friend is having a moment of difficulty and you become the verbal encourager: using the words once spoken by your friend to you.

And you realize, you have listened, you have grown, and you survived!

As another friend said at the end of a particularly difficult moment: who knew we still had lessons to learn at our age.

At least I am not too old to learn these lessons.
