A Quickie

Just a quick post.

It has been quite a while since I have managed to type something on the computer to send out into the blog-o-sphere. We have been rather busy here.

I am working a little outside the house, when I can squeeze in a consulting job.

I have a few weeks this summer when I will be (or have been) watching our two Godsons; from 7am until 5pm (this one is tough as I am not usually coherent at 7am).

I am redoing our schedules here at the house to try to get us more organized and less messy around here.

We had a writing class here for 4 Mondays in July. The class had 12 students and the moms and siblings got to hang out during class time. 11a - noon was the Writing class; noon - 1pm was lunch break; and then 1 - 2pm was a sign language class. Each Monday we entertained about 40 people here. What fun! I will try to remember to write about this later.

The garden is running amok! I will try to get back here with pictures.

I have been canning jellies with our strawberries, which are at an end here.

I have been working on getting healthier - not so easy after 45+ years of bad eating habits.

And the big change for the summer: my Mother-in-Law moved into the house last week. This was after much discussion and prayer. However, it was about 3 months sooner than we had originally planned. We are scrambling and under construction as I type. (My husband is like a steam-roller with no brakes and going down-hill - we are trying to get all demolition and construction done by the end of August so we can have our oldest settled into her new bedroom before her sophomore year starts - she has a tough schedule this coming Fall semester.) The plan is to add two bedrooms in the basement for Olivia and Catherine. The little girls will move into Olivia's old room and then my Mother-in-Law will have the largest bedroom (currently the domain of Catherine, Isabel, and Julianne) where she can have her own space and escape when the mad house gets too much for her. My husband is so smart: he came up with this plan.

I am now getting to the point where the posts in my head are taking up too much room - I have to find the time to get back here and get these memories down before they disappear.
