I was what?!

Camping.

Yep - you read that right, camping.

The last time I went camping was 5 years ago in Vermont with the 4-H horse groups.

This time we went to a local state forest.

We loaded up the car.

We went with friends of ours and set up the site.

It wasn't too bad!

I might even go again. (especially if I can enjoy these views!)

Of course, Frank told the littles that they were to make this a great weekend for me so I would go again.

I heard things like:
"It's my turn to do the dishes!"
"Why can't I help cook?"
"What can I do now?"
"Can I go to bed now?"

Really?
I am thinking we should be camping all the time if this is what happens to my children!

My weekend consisted of this:

crocheting and

Frank took this picture for me to post. Everyone thought it
was quite funny that I had a 'headlight' strapped to my forehead
so I could see my thread. Nathaniel brought it to me so I wouldn't get
upset that I didn't have a lamp to see.
(that boy really wanted me to have a good time!)

Frank got in some fishing.

Lucas learned how to skid-stop on the bike.

Trust me - he got really good at it. He can now skid the bike and jump off and land on his feet in a matter of seconds. Pretty funny!

Frank and Nathaniel built a sand turtle (cute, huh?)

There was biking, playing in the sand, playing in the water, fishing and eating. All in all, a fun time.

The car loaded up to head back home.

A very happy husband who finally got his whole family out for a camping trip. He has been waiting a looong time for this!

  1. Love your camping kitchen!! Nice! And camping without yarn? Unthinkable! What a sweet son you have. :) Our first summer camping trip isn't until the beginning of July -- can't wait!

    Blessings,

    Lisa ;)

A New Start?

A test of sorts.....  I think I'm going to try something old-new.  It has been too many years since my last post. The world's differ...
