I jsut realize: I forgot to post birthday wishes for my Isabel.
Ugh.
A total BAD MOMMY moment!
so: here goes (2 weeks late)
My Isabel turned 10!
Yep: as of April 23, I have 4 children in double digets.
And I really don't know what it is about this one, but I have a difficult time with every birthday she has.
I cry.
Every.time.
I don't know why. Not many other birthdays have bothered me as much as her's. Every.year.
Isabel is my quirky one.
You can find her usually reading a book. Any book. Doesn't really matter to her.
If she is not reading, she is trying to convince me to let her cook.
She is great at muffins in the morning. Or pancakes. Or waffles.
Isabel is the one bouncing along with her head in the clouds.
Or crying when someone else gets hurt.
Invariably, someone will say to me: "You have great kids. All of them. But that Isabel: there is just something about her!"
And for the record, everyone: NO YOU CANNOT TAKE HER HOME WITH YOU AND KEEP HER!
And how did I realize I forgot her birthday here? Because today, Daddy took her to get a new bike. She has outgrown her old one. And I realized I didn't have a post of follow up on.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, ISABEL
WE LOVE YOU!

Aw, Isabel sounds like a beautiful young woman! If you only lived closer, she'd make a great mother's helper ;) Happy birthday Isabel!
ReplyDeleteShe IS a great mother's helper! And the little ones gravitate toward her all the time. She has quite the following at our homeschool co-op at recess time.
Deletethanks for stopping by!

Happy birthday to your beautiful Isabel. I know what you mean about tears on birthdays. phew, it's tough to see our children growing up before our eyes.
ReplyDeletethank you
DeleteIt does go by quickly - I don't like it, most days... until the older ones start driving and running errands and children here and there - then it's not so bad!

Belated birthday wishes to your sweet girl! She sounds like quite an accomplished cook; what a treat it must be to have her preparing breakfast. Four in double digits, huh? They do grow up oh-so-quickly. My baby is going on 12... Sigh.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, ~Lisa
thank you Lisa
DeleteShe does make mornings a little easier for me -and the other littles are thrilled to get the yummy goodness she creates.
12?! oh, I can't imagine - SO not looking forward to that
