CWA - A New Year

Oh, my.
It has been a while since I got here.So many posts percolating in my head, so little time to type them out (and make sense.)

Instead of trying to catch up (which I need to do, to remember what has been done - or not done) I am going to jump right in...

Thankful for...

* My parents - who are beyond generous with my family and me
* My mother-in-law - who creates magic laundry here.
* My husband - who works so hard for us
* My children - who make life interesting
* My friends - without whom I would be a babbling mess

Pondering...

DELIBERATE
I think this will be my word for the year. I am finding myself rushing, always rushing. What would my days be like if I were deliberate in all that I do and think and say. I do think I will be very challenged by this. I am very used to barreling through life and not paying attention to where I am or even how I got there. This should be interesting.

Praying...

For all those who are dealing with Muscular Dystrophy and Heart issues... 2 things rather close to me right now.

Cooking...

Meatloaf for tonight. The menu is planned for the month and seems to be working well so far. Much less angst for me at dinner time.

Creating...

2 new sweaters for me; a sweater for Nathaniel (still); and 2 afghans. I will complete these before I start anything else - I will!

Inside my home...

I am finishing up a 2 week cleaning and organizing blitz that I started on Christmas night. All cabinets, closets and rooms will be cleaned out, reorganized and stuff gone. Many bags to the dump and donation center and only 1 attic, 1 basement and a family room to go. The quarterly clothes clean out will commence after that.

Outside my home...

This week I have the last of the annual checkups, an orthodontist appointment, a support group meeting, and the monthly church pot-luck added to the regular Portuguese School and Scout times.

Hopefully I will get back here soon and get the updates done- we did some fun stuff in December - nothing I had planned, but the unexpected was fun.

Off to Suscipio to see what others are up to.

  2. I love that you are knitting for yourself! I didn't know how much I missed knitting for myself until I knitted myself a hat!

  3. Thank you, Tina.

Lucy - I have never made myself anything - for other- lots; for the house- lots; never for me. I am enjoying the process of non-stop knitting for me (I am much larger than my littles and the quantity of yarn used reflects this! LOL)

  4. Good morning Karen. Deliberate...great choice! I can see a very fruitful, yet less hectic year ahead with that word.

I'm getting ready to tell my children, "Look out, momma's ready to clean things out...again." I'm sure they will be happy, lol!

    1. I am hoping that I will be able to stick with this and be more contemplative this year.

May you have as much fun as I when cleaning things out (and may you get more help than I usually get!)

A New Start?

A test of sorts.....  I think I'm going to try something old-new.  It has been too many years since my last post. The world's differ...
