A Jesse Tree Beginning...

As I had planned, we have been reading one 'chapter' from our fantastic new Jesse Tree book.

Instead of the insane idea I had of creating clay figures to go with each chapter each day, my new brilliant idea is to create clay figures every 4 days of reading. That way each child can create one figure and I only have to clean up the mess every 4 or 5 days, or so; I hope.

Today we finished our 4th reading.

Time to get out the clay.

I just got air dry Crayola clay.

The best part, as far as I am concerned, is that in order to create a figure in clay, we had to review all we had read up to now. An ingenious idea if I do say so myself. A great way to review some Old Testament stories and people.

And our first figures:
Sun and Moon
Creation
by Julianne

Apple
Adam and Eve
by Lucas

Ark
Noah
by Isabel

Camel
Abraham
by Nathaniel
I think this might work!

back to lunch and a bit more 'schooly' school work.

  1. Hello Karen,
My copy of the same book just arrived last night. I can't wait to dig in! My kids have been sculpting in polymer clay after watching the Holy Hero videos. They love it!

I'm off to look around your lovely blog.

    God Bless,
    Summer
