But - Back on the computer, again!
I thought it would be interesting to see what my backyard and gardens look like from week to week. I will try to take the pictures on Sunday morning before church and see if I can remember to do this every week!
I took these pictures yesterday. (in the afternoon - look how well I am doing so far lol)
The backyard looking from the second floor window...
The "back door" garden from the second floor (a much better view than from the ground)...
We have: from left to right:
1st box: celery, basil. lemon verbena, tarragon, rosemary and parsley;
2nd box: lettuce, kale, spinach, broccoli, and swiss chard;
bottom small box: different herbs that keep coming back including chives and sage;
top small box: garlic
pots: 3 different kinds of mint
and last box: carrots and beets.
The "side yard" garden from my bedroom window...
Three of the gardens have summer squash (yellow and zucchini), butternut squash, acorn squash, spaghetti squash and cucumbers. The fourth will get tomatoes and peppers this coming weekend - I think it is finally warm enough to get them in the ground.
A zoom picture of the "pool garden" from the same second floor window...
This garden has a pumpkin 'patch', corn and potatoes. The grape vines are in front of the garden fence. We shall see how this one does - anything that grows here this year will be considered a bonus.
We spent a couple hours yesterday before the pictures weeding the gardens, I am hoping we can stay on top of the gardens this year and not get overrun with weeds.
What a wonderful garden you have! I counted nine raised beds, plus your corn, potato, pumpkin patch. You must produce a lot of your family's food each season. That is such a good thing.
