From Ginny
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?
Still working on Nathaniel's sweater.
Last night I started and finished a baby hat for my nephew. My Sister-in-Law texted me yesterday morning and asked if I could make a red hat for my nephew's first Halloween costume. (we had discussed this last week, she just hadn't wanted to impose!)
He is going to be the 'Very Hungry Caterpillar'. So, of course, I said, "Yes! when do you want to get it?" Since they are coming down tonight for my mother-in-law's birthday celebration, she said "Tomorrow?"
Oh yeah - I love a challenge! I didn't even have a pattern.
Yep - I did it and it is too adorable; if I do say so myself.
Olivia and Catherine were in stitches when I was done. They thought it was cute.....
I couldn't resist going a bit past 'a red hat.' Really - just a hat? I don't think so. Auntie Karen just couldn't.
Reading: still reading about gardening and food storage and other fun homesteading stuff. Still absorbing St Francis de Sales' An Introduction to the Devout Life. (should I keep listing that - that seems to be a permanent read? Hmmm) On the Kindle is The Sinner's Guide by Venerable Louis of Granada. Good stuff.
Off to Ginny's to see what everyone else is doing. (and maybe I will get back here with a picture of the nephew in his hat - the adorable factor should increase exponentially.)

Oh it is so adorable! I have a soft spot for the very hungry caterpillar! I made it as a cake for my son's first birthday :)
ReplyDeleteI love that hat! It turned out great!
ReplyDeleteSO adorable!! I have a cousin and a friend who are both having babies soon-- this might be on the "to make" list!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!
thank you all!
ReplyDeleteI was quite pleased with the end result, and so was my sister-in-law. Of course, the nephew was adorable!
